I compiti a casa furono introdotti per la prima volta in Italia all’inizio del XX secolo come un modo per aiutare gli studenti a comprendere il materiale didattico al di fuori dell’aula, soprattutto per riempire il periodo delle vacanze, poiché in Italia gli scolari hanno tre mesi di vacanza, da giugno a settembre. Oggigiorno, le relazioni pubbliche sono diventate parte integrante del sistema educativo di molti paesi, tra cui l’Indonesia.

An Italian teacher who worked in 1905, named Roberto Nevilis from Venice is said to be the first teacher to create homework as a punishment system for students, the more violations his students committed, the more homework his students had to do.
